Our March Madness Comes to a Close
What a month! Our students really embraced all that literacy month had to offer these past few weeks.
The School-wide Read-a- Thon was a great success, bringing much needed funds into our classrooms. In addition to this new activity, we also launched a new book fair with Banana Seed Books. It was a pleasure to see the students browse all the great choices, and the limited toy section helped them to refocus their attention back on books. Top sellers were Mindcraft and Sisters. Literacy Night brought students together
to story board, draw Chinese characters, book mark making, and much more. The homework pass was a big draw :). To top it off, we had a fantastic evening of Dr. Seuss inspired fun at the first grade family night Dr. Seuss's Birthday.
Thank you to all the families that came together to make this month as fun as it was.
Campus Beautification Ongoing
March 21st we held our second campus clean up of the school year. We were able to clean out the parking lot, remove plants that were not thriving and fill in some of the flower beds with new plants. Most importantly we were able to repaint the Kindergartners hopscotch grids in their playground. Looking ahead, we have another clean up in May - where we are looking to add color to our playground either on the fences, on the cement, or in the planter boxes. Come share your ideas with the PTA or in the office. We would love to work together with you!
