School Begins Wed, August 27!

HappSunnyBee.jpgy Summer to all the Sunnybrae community!  I hope you have been taking advantage of the public libraries or bookstores throughout the summer.  One of the best activities for any learner is to read, and read, and READ!!

Classes begin on Wednesday, August 27th.  Don't forget to be at school and on time every day.  Our campus opens at 8 AM and no students should arrive early.  Classes begin at different times:

TK/K 8:10 AM

1st-3rd 8:35 AM

4/5 8:15 AM

TK/K end their school day every day at 12:50 PM.  Grades normally end at 3 PM, but on WEDNESDAYS school gets out for grades 1-5 at 12:45.  So, since our first day is a Wednesday, TK/K end at 12:40 PM and grades 1-5 end at 12:45 PM.

Please be on time dropping students off in the morning (plan on arriving 5-10 minutes before the class start time) and picking them up at the end of the day.

Our Sunnybrae office officially opens on Tuesday, August 5th.  If you are needing ENROLLMENT information before then please contact the district office at 312-7250. For any OTHER questions, please call the main district office phone number at 312-7700.

Read, Read, Read!! -- First Friday Book Swap!!

Every Sunnybrae student is expected to read every night at the appropriate "just right" reading level--not too hard, not too easy.  For lower grades this may involve picture books or parent read-alouds.  For upper grades this will usually be more independent reading.  Make it a family event.  Everybody read! And don't forget about our First Friday of the Month Book Swap.
